The 3M Tegaderm 1626W is a transparent, waterproof frame-style dressing measuring 10×12 cm, designed as a sterile barrier that protects a catheter site, wound, or CGM sensor from bacteria, viruses, blood, and other body fluids. Laboratory testing has confirmed that the film stays intact and blocks viruses as small as 27 nm in diameter.

Unlike the compact 1624W version (6×7 cm), which is sized for a single CGM sensor, the 1626W is larger and suits bigger wounds, catheter insertion sites, or situations that call for wider coverage around a Dexcom, FreeStyle Libre, or other CGM sensor. Its frame-style delivery system reduces the risk of the film sticking to gloves or to itself, while adhesive across the entire film — not just the border — provides a more secure hold, so the sensor doesn’t shift during sleep, workouts, or under clothing.

The film stays breathable, letting oxygen through and releasing moisture vapor so skin underneath doesn’t feel smothered. It’s a good option for anyone whose regular patches don’t hold well enough or who experiences skin irritation from them. Before applying, clean and dry the skin around the sensor or catheter site, then carefully peel off the backing and smooth the film into place.
